I’ve always thrived on the challenge and discipline that physical exercise demands. But after years of intense training at such a young age I found myself plagued by nagging injuries that prevented me from participating in the training that I loved. After years of wearing a back brace and not doing any strenuous exercise I finally agreed to check out a yoga class with my sister, as a means of rehab.
I had a closed minded view of yoga thinking “Only girls do yoga” and “this wimpy stuff can’t be worth my time.” How unbelievably wrong I was. First of all, I was blown away by how challenging it was to hold downward-facing-dog; and sitting still and balancing…forget about it. After the first class not only did my body feel fantastic but I walked away with something that I never experienced in all my years of gym training: an overwhelming sense of wellbeing. Needless to say I was hooked!
I knew there was something more to yoga than being able to contort my body into awkward positions or being able to stand on my head and I wanted to find out more. So I began taking yoga classes as often as possible. Twice a day most days and I would show up early and stay late so that I could pick the brains of various teachers. I was blessed early on to meet Jordan Bloom, a great friend, mentor, and talented Anusara Yoga teacher. He encouraged me and provided invaluable learning opportunities that paved the way for the teacher I was to become.
As I learned more and more about yoga I began being called upon to lead practices with my friends. Long before thoughts of teaching yoga professionally ever arose I had begun organizing and leading community yoga classes for fellow students at The University of Miami, guiding students through asana and pranayama in a casual setting.
It was not until later, after many workshops and master classes with some incredible teachers, that the desire to teach yoga as a profession became obvious. Having personally experienced the healing powers of Anusara Yoga in my own body, I felt the strong desire to share my passion for this practice and these principles with others.
I began studying with Ken von Roenn III, a former affiliate of Anusara Yoga and founder of Skanda Yoga. Following the completion of the first Skanda Yoga Teacher Training, Ken certified me to teach Skanda Yoga. Later I completed an Anusara Yoga Teacher Training under the guidance of Christy Nones and Peter Barber.
I teach public, private, and group classes in the Miami area. My mission is to share the teachings of Anusara Yoga with others encouraging everyone to connect to their innate greatness in order to delight more fully in the Divine splendor of life.
Please keep in touch and I look forward to seeing you on the mat!
Abundant blessings,
Jason

Thank You's
Thank you to John Friend for creating Anusara Yoga and for being such a inspirational teacher, leader, and mentor to me. I want to thank Jordan Bloom for introducing me to this intelligent and elegant method, and for inspiring me to pursue my passion and continuously encouraging me along the way. Many thanks to my mentors Christy Nones and Peter Barber who continue to support and guide me through their wisdom and experience. To Steve and Darlene Feinzig of Yoga One, thanks for creating such a wonderful space for Anusara Yoga to flourish in South Florida. Without their vision I would not have had access to the incredible teachers that I did.
A very special thank you to my wonderful family and friends that continually enrich and enhance my life. I would like to especially thank my father for his belief in me, his unflinching support, and for driving me to be the best at whatever I do. I am eternally grateful.
I have overwhelming gratitude for all my teachers/students that continue to inspire me everyday. You make it all worthwhile. Big love to you all!
